Glute Kickback (Band)
An isolation exercise that targets the glutes through a single-leg hip extension movement using a resistance band.
Instructions
- Attach a resistance band to a fixed point at floor level.
- Loop the other end of the band around one foot.
- Stand upright, holding onto a support for balance if needed.
- Drive your leg backward against the band resistance, extending your hip.
- Squeeze your glute at the end of the movement.
- Return your leg to the starting position in a controlled manner.
- Complete all repetitions on one leg, then switch to the other.
Tips
- Keep your torso upright and avoid arching your lower back excessively.
- The movement should come from your hip; avoid swinging your leg.
- Perform the exercise slowly and deliberately for maximum glute activation.
- Perform the exercise equally on both sides for balanced glute development.
- This exercise is excellent for isolating the glutes effectively.
