Standing Toe Touches

A classic standing hamstring and calf stretch where you fold forward at the waist with straight legs, allowing gravity to deepen the stretch.
Instructions
- Stand upright with your feet positioned hip-width apart and clear space in front of and behind you.
- Keeping your legs straight (but knees not locked), slowly bend at the hips and fold your torso forward.
- Allow your arms and hands to hang naturally toward your toes as your upper body relaxes downward.
- Hold this position for 20-30 seconds, allowing gravity to deepen the stretch along your hamstrings and calves.
- Slowly roll back up to standing, engaging your core as you return to the starting position.
Tips
- Keep your legs as straight as possible without hyperextending your knees.
- Do not force yourself into a deeper stretch by pulling on your legs.
- Perform this stretch after workouts when muscles are warm and pliable.
- If hamstring tightness is significant, allow your knees to bend slightly.
- Breathe deeply throughout the stretch to encourage relaxation.
