Wall Push
A beginner-friendly upper body exercise performed with hands on a wall, pushing your body away from the wall. A progression step toward standard push-ups.
Instructions
- Stand facing a wall at arm’s length distance.
- Place your hands on the wall at shoulder width and slightly below shoulder height.
- Keep your body straight from head to heels, leaning forward slightly.
- Bend your elbows and lower your body toward the wall.
- Push through your hands to extend your arms and return to the starting position.
- Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions.
Tips
- This is an excellent beginner exercise to build foundation strength before progressing to floor push-ups.
- Keep your core engaged to maintain a straight body line.
- Perform movements slowly and controlled.
- Progress by stepping further from the wall as you get stronger.
- Once comfortable, progress to incline push-ups or standard push-ups.
