Calf Stretch (Band)
A passive stretching exercise that targets the calf muscles using a resistance band to increase flexibility and reduce tension in the lower leg.
Instructions
- Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you.
- Loop a resistance band around the ball of your foot.
- Hold both ends of the band with your hands, maintaining an upright posture.
- Gently pull the band toward your body, flexing your foot to feel a stretch in your calf.
- Keep your knee straight without locking it.
- Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds without bouncing.
- Relax and repeat on the other leg.
Tips
- Perform the stretch when your muscles are warm, such as after a workout.
- Do not force the stretch; go only to the point of mild tension.
- Breathe deeply and relax throughout the stretch to allow muscles to lengthen.
- Hold stretches for 20-30 seconds, repeating 2-3 times per leg.
- This is an ideal cool-down exercise for runners and athletes who engage the calves.
