Forearm Plank
A core stability exercise performed on forearms and toes that targets the abdominals, shoulders, and stabilizer muscles.
Instructions
- Start in a face-down position on a mat with your forearms on the ground.
- Position your elbows directly under your shoulders with forearms parallel to each other.
- Engage your core and glutes, creating a straight line from your head to your heels.
- Keep your head in a neutral position, not looking down or up.
- Push your forearms into the ground to maintain a strong, rigid position.
- Hold this position for the desired duration.
Tips
- Your body should form a straight line from head to heels; avoid sagging hips or raising them too high.
- Engage your core throughout the entire hold.
- For increased difficulty, hold for longer durations or add movements like shoulder taps.
- For reduced difficulty, drop to your knees while maintaining proper form.
- Breathe steadily throughout the hold; do not hold your breath.
- This is an excellent foundation for building core strength and stability.
