A mobility and core stability exercise where a kettlebell is circled around your head, improving shoulder mobility while strengthening core and stabilizer muscles.
Instructions
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and hold a kettlebell upside-down by the horns at shoulder height.
- Keep your core engaged and maintain an upright posture throughout the movement.
- Slowly circle the kettlebell around your head by rotating your torso slightly.
- Complete a full circle, moving the kettlebell above, behind, and back to the starting position.
- Complete half the prescribed reps in one direction, then reverse and circle the other way.
- Maintain consistent tension and control throughout the entire circling motion.
Tips
- Hold the kettlebell by the horns (upside-down) to increase stability challenge and core engagement.
- Move slowly and deliberately to maximize control and shoulder mobility work.
- Keep your elbows high and core braced to prevent lower back hyperextension.
- This exercise is excellent as a warm-up to improve shoulder mobility before pressing movements.
- Perform with lighter kettlebells focusing on mobility rather than loading for strength.
