Hip Extension with BandsHip Extension with Bands

A resistance band exercise where you extend the leg backward against band tension to strengthen the glutes and hamstrings.

Instructions

  1. Secure one end of the band to the lower portion of a post at ankle height.
  2. Attach the other end to one ankle using a loop or anchor.
  3. Face the attachment point and hold the post to stabilize yourself.
  4. Keeping your head and chest up, move the resisted leg back as far as possible.
  5. Keep the knee straight throughout the movement.
  6. Return the leg to the starting position in a controlled manner.
  7. Complete all repetitions on one side before switching.

Tips

  • Maintain an upright posture throughout the exercise.
  • Focus on using your glutes to drive the movement.
  • Keep the movement smooth without jerking the band.
  • Use a heavier band as you get stronger.
  • Avoid arching your lower back excessively.
