Reclined Bound Angle
A gentle passive stretching position that targets the inner thighs and hip flexors while lying on your back.
Instructions
- Lie on your back on a comfortable surface or exercise mat.
- Bend both knees and bring your feet together, allowing your knees to fall out to the sides.
- Position your feet as close to your glutes as comfortable while maintaining the knees-out position.
- Let gravity gently stretch your inner thighs and hip muscles.
- You can place your hands on your inner thighs or let your arms rest at your sides.
- Relax completely and breathe deeply while maintaining this position.
- Hold this stretch for 30-60 seconds or longer as tolerated.
Tips
- This is a gentle, passive stretch—do not force your knees down.
- The stretch intensity can be increased slightly by gently pressing on the inner thighs.
- This position is excellent for relaxation and flexibility improvement.
- Breathing deeply helps relax the muscles into a more comfortable stretch.
- This stretch is particularly beneficial after lower body workouts.
