Reverse Wrist Curl (Cable)
An isolation exercise for the forearm extensors performed with a cable attachment using an overhand grip to strengthen wrist extension.
Instructions
- Attach a straight bar to a low pulley cable and select the appropriate weight.
- Stand facing the machine and grasp the bar with an overhand grip (palms facing down), hands shoulder-width apart.
- Rest your forearms on a bench or flat surface with your hands extending just beyond the edge.
- Extend your wrists by curling the bar upward using only your forearms and wrist extensors.
- Pause briefly at the top of the movement.
- Lower the bar back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
Tips
- Keep your forearms flat and stationary on the bench throughout the movement.
- Use a light weight to focus on the forearm extensors without straining the joints.
- Perform the movement slowly to maximize time under tension.
- Full range of motion is important for developing forearm strength and endurance.
- Combine with reverse wrist curls to balance forearm development.
