An isolation exercise targeting the wrist extensor muscles using resistance band tension. Important for wrist health, balanced forearm development, and injury prevention.

Instructions

  1. Sit on a bench with your forearms resting on your thighs, palms facing down.
  2. Loop a resistance band around your hands and hold the ends securely.
  3. Keeping your forearms stationary, extend your wrists upward, raising the backs of your hands.
  4. Contract your wrist extensors at the top position.
  5. Slowly lower your hands back to the starting position with control.
  6. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Tips

  • Keep your forearms completely stationary, isolating the wrist extensors.
  • Move through a full range of motion from flexed wrists to extended position.
  • This exercise balances wrist flexor training for injury prevention.
  • Start with lighter band resistance as the wrist extensors are small muscles.
  • Proper wrist health is important for all pressing movements and overall arm strength.

Recommended starting values
