Bent Leg Raise (TRX / Suspension Trainer)
A TRX core exercise where you raise your bent knees toward your chest while suspended, emphasizing hip flexor and abdominal strength.
Instructions
- Adjust the TRX straps to a shortened length
- Face away from the anchor point and grasp the handles
- Walk your feet back to create a plank position suspended by the TRX
- Your body should be in a straight line from head to heels
- Engage your core and bend your knees, driving them toward your chest
- Bring your knees as close to your chest as possible while maintaining body position
- Lower your legs back to the plank position with control
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
Tips
- The bent knee position makes this more accessible than straight leg raises
- The TRX instability requires significant core engagement for stability
- Focus on driving your knees toward your chest rather than swinging
- Control both the flexion and extension phases of the movement
- Keep your hips aligned and avoid excessive hip dropping
- This exercise builds core stability and strength effectively
