Calf Stretch Elbows Against Wall

A passive calf stretch performed against a wall with forearms to improve ankle mobility and prevent calf tightness.
Instructions
- Stand facing a wall from approximately 2-3 feet away.
- Lean forward and place your forearms against the wall, with your elbows at approximately shoulder height.
- Position your feet hip-width apart on the ground behind you.
- Keeping your heels firmly planted on the ground, lean your body toward the wall.
- You should feel a stretch developing in your calf muscles.
- Hold this stretched position for 10-20 seconds, breathing deeply and relaxing into the stretch.
- Adjust your distance from the wall to modify the intensity of the stretch.
Tips
- Keep both heels pressed into the floor throughout the stretch
- The closer you get to the wall, the more intense the calf stretch becomes
- Lean with your entire body weight rather than just your arms
- This is an effective calf stretch using minimal equipment
- Hold the stretch for at least 15-20 seconds for best results
- Perform this stretch after workouts when your muscles are warm
- You can adjust the difficulty by stepping closer to or farther from the wall
