A dynamic chest stretch performed by draping the chest over an exercise ball to lengthen pectoral muscles.
Instructions
- Get on your hands and knees next to an exercise ball.
- Place your elbows on top of the ball, keeping your arm out to your side. This is your starting position.
- Lower your torso towards the floor, keeping your elbow on top of the ball to stretch your chest.
- Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds, feeling a gentle stretch across your chest.
- Return to starting position and repeat on the other arm.
- Perform the stretch on both sides.
Tips
- Use a stability ball that allows you to maintain proper positioning
- This is a unilateral stretch; perform on both sides equally
- Do not force the stretch; only go as far as is comfortable
- Breathe deeply throughout the stretch
- Great for post-workout mobility and muscle recovery
