Clap Push-Up
An explosive plyometric push-up where you generate enough force to clap your hands in mid-air before catching yourself.
Instructions
- Position yourself in a push-up starting position with hands shoulder-width apart and body forming a straight line.
- Lower your body by bending your elbows until your chest is near the floor.
- Explosively push yourself upward using maximum force, leaving the ground.
- While in the air, clap your hands together in front of your chest.
- Quickly return your hands to the starting position and absorb the landing with bent elbows.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Tips
- Requires solid strength; master 20+ regular push-ups first
- Land with elbows slightly bent to absorb impact safely
- Keep your core tight throughout the movement
- Start with single claps; progress to double claps
- This builds explosive chest and triceps power
