Crab Toe Touch
Dynamic core exercise combining crab walk position with alternating toe touches, building shoulder stability and core strength.
Instructions
- Sit on the ground with your hands behind you, fingers pointing forward, and feet in front of you with knees bent.
- Press through your hands and feet to lift your hips off the ground, creating a crab position.
- Engage your core and maintain this position while reaching one arm forward to touch the toes of the opposite foot.
- Return your reaching arm to the ground beside your body.
- Alternate sides, reaching toward your opposite foot.
- Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions, alternating sides.
Tips
- Maintain a rigid plank-like position; avoid letting your hips sag.
- Keep your chest facing upward; minimize excessive rotation.
- Move deliberately and avoid using momentum to swing your reaching arm.
- This exercise challenges shoulder stability, core strength, and balance simultaneously.
- Perform as a dynamic movement or hold the crab position briefly between each touch.
- Breathe steadily throughout; exhale as you reach and inhale as you return.
- Modify by performing the crab walk movement without toe touches if too challenging.
