Double Under Crossovers (Jump Rope)
An advanced jump rope variation combining double unders with crossing arm movements for coordination and cardiovascular challenge.
Instructions
- Stand with feet hip-width apart, holding the jump rope handles at your sides with a slight forward lean.
- Jump explosively, bringing the rope over your head with high wrist speed to complete two rotations per jump.
- As the rope passes overhead on the second rotation, cross your arms at the chest.
- Uncross your arms as the rope approaches the ground to allow it to pass under your feet.
- Land softly on the balls of your feet, maintaining rhythm and control.
- Continue alternating crossed and uncrossed arm positions with each double under.
Tips
- Keep your wrists relaxed and let them do most of the work, not your shoulders.
- Jump only high enough for the rope to pass under your feet.
- Practice double unders without crosses first to build consistency.
- Land with bent knees to absorb impact and reduce joint stress.
- Keep your core engaged to maintain upright posture throughout.
- Breathe rhythmically and maintain a steady tempo.
