Landmine Rotation (Barbell)
A core rotation exercise using a landmine barbell that emphasizes oblique strength and rotational stability in a controlled manner.
Instructions
- Load one end of the barbell into a landmine attachment.
- Stand perpendicular to the machine with feet shoulder-width apart.
- Grip the end of the barbell at chest height with both hands.
- Keep your torso upright and core engaged.
- Rotate your torso, pulling the barbell across your body in one direction.
- Maintain your hip position and avoid moving your feet during the rotation.
- Pause briefly at the end of the rotation range.
- Return to the center and rotate to the opposite side.
- Alternate sides for the desired number of repetitions per direction.
Tips
- Keep your hips facing forward and isolate the rotation to your core and upper back.
- Control the movement throughout to maximize oblique engagement and reduce momentum.
- Start with a lighter weight to master rotational stability and form.
- This exercise improves anti-rotation core stability and functional strength.
- The angled barbell makes this variation accessible for beginners.
- Breathe naturally throughout the movement, avoiding breath holding.
