Plank Pull Through (Cable)
An advanced core exercise that develops stability and strength by pulling cable resistance while maintaining a plank position.
Instructions
- Set the cable pulley to a low position and attach a single handle or rope.
- Assume a plank position facing the cable machine, with your feet behind you and hands on the floor.
- Reach one arm under your body, pulling the cable handle toward your torso while maintaining your plank.
- Pause briefly, feeling your core and shoulder muscles stabilize.
- Return the handle to the starting position in a controlled manner without rotating excessively.
- Alternate arms or complete all repetitions on one side before switching.
Tips
- Maintain a rigid plank position throughout; avoid excessive rotation or hip drop.
- Keep your core engaged and your body in a straight line from head to heels.
- Move deliberately and under control; avoid jerky or ballistic movements.
- This is a challenging exercise; start with light resistance and focus on form.
- Modifications include performing from your knees or against a wall to reduce difficulty.
- Excellent for developing rotational stability and functional core strength.
