A yoga-inspired stretching pose performed from a low lunge position with the torso rotated and the forearm or hand placed on the ground, targeting the obliques and adductors.
Instructions
- Begin in a low lunge position with your right foot forward and left leg extended back.
- Bend your right knee deeply, ensuring your knee stays over your ankle.
- Place your right forearm on the inside of your right thigh or bring your right hand to the ground.
- Keep your left arm extended overhead, reaching toward the front of your mat.
- Turn your torso open toward the side, gently rotating your spine.
- Press your left foot firmly into the ground while extending through your left leg.
- Hold the stretch position, breathing deeply and relaxing into the pose.
- Release gently and switch sides.
Tips
- Use a yoga mat or cushion to pad your hands and knees if needed.
- Breathe deeply and slowly; hold the stretch for 30-60 seconds on each side.
- Keep your front knee aligned with your ankle; do not let it cave inward.
- Feel a stretch along the entire left side of your body when performing the pose.
- Avoid forcing the stretch; work within your current range of motion.
