Snakes (Battle Rope)
A battle rope variation where the ropes move in undulating snake-like patterns along the ground, building shoulder and forearm endurance.
Instructions
- Position yourself at the center point of anchored battle ropes, approximately 15-20 feet away, taking one end in each hand.
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, maintaining a slight knee bend.
- Keep your arms low and move them side to side in a rapid undulating motion.
- Move the ropes in snake-like waves along the ground rather than lifting them.
- Continue the side-to-side undulating pattern as rapidly as possible for the prescribed time duration.
Tips
- Keep your arms relatively low, moving from your shoulders and elbows.
- The snake pattern is less demanding than larger waves, making it good for endurance.
- Maintain constant motion without pausing between movements.
- This variation emphasizes sustained effort over explosive power.
- The undulating motion helps build forearm and grip endurance.
