90-Degree Push-Up
A beginner-friendly push-up variation performed with your body at a 90-degree angle, using a wall or elevated surface for support.
Instructions
- Face a wall and place your hands on it at shoulder width and shoulder height.
- Keep your body straight and angled away from the wall at approximately 90 degrees.
- Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the wall in a controlled manner.
- Stop when your elbows are bent at approximately 90 degrees.
- Push through your palms to extend your elbows and return to the starting position.
- Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions.
Tips
- The steeper your body angle to the wall, the more challenging the exercise becomes.
- Keep your core engaged and body straight throughout to maintain proper form.
- This is an excellent progression exercise for building strength toward full push-ups.
- Maintain a steady breathing pattern: exhale as you push, inhale as you lower.
- As you gain strength, gradually increase the angle of your body away from the wall.
