Elevated Side Plank Hip Dip
A core and oblique exercise where the body is supported on one side in a plank position on an elevated surface with hip dips for added difficulty.
Instructions
- Position yourself sideways on a bench with your forearm on the bench and your body forming a straight line from head to feet.
- Your feet should be stacked or positioned close together on the floor or another elevated surface.
- Engage your core and raise your hips so your body forms a straight plank.
- Lower your hips toward the ground in a dipping motion, but do not let them touch.
- Raise your hips back to the elevated plank position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch sides.
Tips
- Keep your body in a straight line throughout, avoiding sagging hips.
- Engage your core and obliques to stabilize the position.
- Move slowly and control the hip dips.
- Can be modified by keeping both feet on the ground instead of elevated.
- For added difficulty, place your top arm across your chest or overhead.
