Secondary Muscles
An advanced plyometric exercise that involves explosive power generation during a pull-up movement, often involving hand separation at the top.
Instructions
- Grip the pull-up bar with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Hang from the bar with arms fully extended, engaging your core.
- Pull yourself upward explosively, generating enough momentum to bring your chest near the bar.
- As you reach the top of the pull-up, release the bar and clap your hands together.
- Re-grip the bar before descending to the starting position.
- Control the descent and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Tips
- This exercise requires significant upper body strength; master standard pull-ups first.
- Focus on generating explosive power from your back and shoulders.
- Start with lower heights or assisted variations if needed.
- The explosive nature builds power and athleticism.
- Can be modified with hand separation at the top rather than a full clap.
