Judo Flip (Cable)

Core rotational exercise using cable with rope attachment to develop explosive rotational power and core strength.
Instructions
- Connect a rope attachment to the lowest pulley position of a cable tower.
- Stand with your side to the cable with a wide stance, keeping your feet about 2-3 feet apart.
- Grab the rope with both hands and hold it at approximately stomach height.
- Twist your body away from the pulley as you bring the rope over your shoulder in a powerful motion, like performing a judo flip.
- Shift your weight from your back foot to your front foot as you twist and crunch forward.
- Pull the cable downward toward your opposite hip using your core muscles.
- Return to the starting position with control.
- Complete all reps on one side, then reposition and repeat on the opposite side.
Tips
- Focus on generating power from your core muscles, not just your arms
- The movement should be explosive and dynamic
- Maintain a wide stance for stability and proper force transfer
- Shift your weight between your feet throughout the movement
- This exercise is excellent for rotational power and core strength development
