L-Hold (TRX / Suspension Trainer)
An isometric core and hip flexor exercise holding an L-shape suspension position. Demands exceptional core strength, hip flexor endurance, and shoulder stability.
Instructions
- Stand facing the TRX anchor point and grasp the handles
- Jump or step your feet into the straps or leg cradles
- Position your body so your legs are extended forward at approximately 90 degrees
- Maintain a straight line from your hips through your shoulders
- Keep your core maximally engaged to support this position
- Hold this L-shape position for the prescribed duration
- Breathe steadily and maintain tension throughout
- Lower down with control when time is complete
Tips
- This is an extremely challenging isometric hold
- Your core must be braced maximally to prevent sagging
- Maintain a proud chest and shoulders
- Start with shorter holds and progress duration gradually
- Your hip flexors will be heavily engaged
- This builds exceptional core and shoulder strength
- If full L-hold is too difficult, modify by bending your knees slightly
- Maintain steady breathing; avoid holding your breath
