A compound exercise combining a forward lunge with a torso rotation while holding a kettlebell, developing lower body strength, core stability, and rotational power.
Instructions
- Stand upright holding a kettlebell at chest height with both hands.
- Step forward with one leg into a lunge position, lowering your body.
- As you reach the bottom of the lunge, rotate your torso toward your front leg.
- Keep the kettlebell at chest height throughout the rotation for control and safety.
- Rotate back to center and drive through your front heel to return to standing.
- Alternate legs and repeat for prescribed reps.
Tips
- Maintain an upright lunge with your front knee above your ankle throughout the movement.
- Drive the rotation from your core rather than twisting primarily from your shoulders.
- Keep your back heel up slightly to maintain balance and proper lunge positioning.
- Perform slowly and deliberately rather than quickly to maximize core and lunge engagement.
- This exercise builds lower body strength, core stability, and anti-rotation control.
