A bodyweight hamstring isolation exercise performed without equipment, focusing on hamstring contraction and control.
Instructions
- Lie face down on an exercise mat or floor with your legs extended.
- Keep your arms by your sides for stability, or place them under your forehead for comfort.
- Bend your knees and curl your heels toward your glutes, contracting your hamstrings.
- Continue the curl until your heels are as close to your glutes as possible.
- Squeeze your hamstrings at the top position for a moment.
- Slowly lower your heels back to the starting position with control.
- Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions.
Tips
- Keep your hips in contact with the floor throughout the movement.
- Move slowly to maximize hamstring engagement and control.
- This is a bodyweight variation; progress to weighted versions when ready.
- Avoid jerking or using momentum to complete the curl.
- This exercise is excellent for hamstring flexibility and strength.
- Perform consistently to build strong, healthy hamstrings.
