Secondary Muscles
A static hold where you support yourself on the rings with arms extended and legs extended forward in an L-shape, developing core and pressing strength.
Instructions
- Begin in a support hold on the rings with arms extended
- Depress your shoulders and engage your core
- Gradually extend your legs forward
- Position your body so legs are parallel to the ground
- Maintain straight arms and shoulders actively depressed
- Hold this position for the prescribed duration
Tips
- Start with bent knees if full extension is too difficult
- Focus on shoulder depression for better support
- Keep your core engaged to prevent hips from sagging
- Maintain tension in your entire body
- Progress by increasing hold duration or straightening legs more
- This builds excellent core strength and pressing stability
- Can be performed with feet elevated for added difficulty
Recommended starting values
Sensible novice starting points for each goal, for a lifter aged 25–40. Scale down for smaller frames or older lifters. Treat the first set of any session as a discovery set.
