Secondary Muscles
A dynamic cardiovascular exercise combining mountain climbers with feet elevated on a stability ball, increasing intensity and core engagement.
Instructions
- Assume a push-up position with hands on the floor, shoulder-width apart
- Place your feet on the stability ball
- Keep your body in a straight plank position with core engaged
- Rapidly alternate driving your knees toward your chest
- Maintain constant movement and momentum
- Keep your hips level and avoid rotating your torso
- Continue for desired duration or reps
Tips
- Move as fast as you can control; speed increases cardiovascular demand
- Maintain a rigid plank; sagging hips reduce exercise effectiveness
- Keep your shoulders over your wrists to protect your joints
- Coordinate arm and leg movements for optimal rhythm
- Breathe steadily; avoid holding your breath
- The instability of the ball increases core activation significantly
- This exercise provides both strength and cardiovascular benefits
