Bear Crawl
A bodyweight movement where the body is held in an inverted V position with hands and feet on the ground, building full-body strength and stability.
Instructions
- Start on your hands and feet with your hips elevated, forming an inverted V shape.
- Keep your hands directly beneath your shoulders and your feet about hip-width apart.
- Maintain a flat back and engage your core throughout.
- Move by stepping one hand forward followed by the opposite foot, maintaining the bear position.
- Continue moving forward or in different patterns as prescribed for time or distance.
Tips
- Keep your hips at a consistent height; avoid dropping them or hiking them too high.
- Move deliberately and maintain the inverted V position throughout.
- Engage your core strongly to prevent your hips from sagging.
- This exercise can be performed for time or distance depending on your focus.
- Modify by performing slower, more deliberate movements or faster crawling patterns.
