Secondary Muscles

A lateral leg movement using suspension support to load the frontal plane. Targets the quadriceps, glutes, and adductors while improving lateral stability.

Instructions

  1. Stand facing the TRX anchor point holding the handles at chest height
  2. Step to one side, keeping your chest upright and core engaged
  3. Bend the knee of the stepping leg while keeping the other leg relatively straight
  4. Lower your hips backward and to the side
  5. Feel the stretch in the inner thigh of the straight leg
  6. Drive through the heel of the bent leg to return to center
  7. Complete all reps on one side before switching
  8. Maintain an upright torso throughout the movement

Tips

  • Keep your chest upright and avoid excessive forward lean
  • The knee of the bent leg should track over your toes
  • The weight should remain centered over your feet
  • Use the handles for balance, not to pull yourself up
  • Maintain a controlled movement; avoid jerky transitions
  • Equal reps on both sides ensures balanced development
  • This exercise works the frontal plane, which is often neglected
  • Progress by reducing hand support or stepping further to the side
