A compound kettlebell exercise combining a clean with an overhead press. Develops total-body strength, power, and conditioning in one movement.
Instructions
- Place two kettlebells on the ground between your feet, positioned slightly wider than hip-width apart.
- Bend at your hips and knees to grasp both kettlebell handles with your arms extended.
- Drive explosively through your heels to stand up, extending your hips and knees.
- As you stand, explosively pull the kettlebells up to shoulder height, rotating your wrists so your palms face forward.
- The kettlebells should be racked at shoulder height with your elbows bent and pointing downward.
- Dip your body slightly by bending your hips and knees while keeping your torso upright.
- Explosively extend your hips and knees while pressing the kettlebells overhead by extending your arms.
- Lock your elbows out at the top with the kettlebells pressed directly overhead.
- Lower the kettlebells back to shoulder height in a controlled manner.
- Lower the kettlebells to the ground by bending your hips and knees.
- Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions.
Tips
- This is a complete full-body movement combining pulling and pressing power in one exercise.
- Maintain a strong athletic posture throughout all phases of the movement.
- The dip between the clean and press generates momentum for a more powerful overhead press.
- Keep your core engaged and your body stable when pressing overhead with loaded kettlebells.
- Start with lighter weight to master the movement pattern before increasing load.
- This exercise is highly effective for building strength, power, and metabolic conditioning.
