Perfect Push Up
A push-up performed with specialized handles that rotate, reducing wrist strain and allowing greater range of motion compared to a standard push-up.
Instructions
- Place the Perfect Push Up handles on the floor slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Position your hands on the rotating handles and extend your legs behind you, resting on the balls of your feet.
- Keep your body in a straight line from your head to your heels, with your core engaged and glutes tight.
- Lower your body toward the ground by bending your elbows, keeping them at approximately a 45-degree angle from your torso.
- Descend until your chest is close to the handles or as far as your range of motion allows.
- Press through your hands to extend your elbows and return to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Tips
- The rotating handles significantly reduce wrist strain compared to a standard push-up, making them excellent for those with wrist issues.
- Maintain a rigid plank position throughout; avoid letting your hips sag or pike upward.
- Lower yourself with control rather than dropping quickly; the eccentric phase should take 2-3 seconds.
- The handles allow a greater range of motion than a standard push-up, so take advantage of this deeper stretch in the bottom position.
- Focus on mind-muscle connection in your chest and triceps throughout the movement.
- If this becomes too easy, you can progress to single-leg variations or add resistance with a weight vest.
