Primary Muscles

A horizontal pulling movement performed from an inverted position where you pull your chest toward the rings, building back and arm strength.

Instructions

  1. Position yourself in an inverted hang with body nearly horizontal
  2. Keep your body rigid with core engaged
  3. Pull your chest toward the rings by retracting your shoulder blades
  4. Drive your elbows backward and downward
  5. Maintain a straight body line throughout the movement
  6. Lower yourself back to the starting position with control

Tips

  • Start with a more vertical angle if needed
  • Focus on pulling with your back, not just your arms
  • Keep your body tight and avoid sagging hips
  • Gradually increase body angle to progress
  • Maintain scapular retraction throughout the movement
  • This is an excellent pulling progression exercise
  • Can be performed with hands at different heights to modify difficulty

Recommended starting values
