Bosu Ball Cable Crunch With Side BendsBosu Ball Cable Crunch With Side Bends

An advanced core exercise combining cable crunches on a BOSU ball with side bends to develop abdominal and oblique strength.

Instructions

  1. Connect a standard handle to each arm of a cable machine positioned in the most downward position.
  2. Place a BOSU ball in front and center of the cable machine with the dome side up.
  3. Lie back on the BOSU ball with your lower back arched around the curve, your rear end near but not touching the floor.
  4. Reach back to grasp each cable handle, extending your arms straight out at knee level in front of you.
  5. Keep your arms straight and aligned with the upward angle of the cable.
  6. Elevate your torso by crunching forward, maintaining rigid arm position throughout.
  7. Slowly descend back to the starting position with your back arched and abs elongated.
  8. Upon reaching fatigue, transition to plank position on the BOSU ball with your back elevated.
  9. Lower your arms to your sides and perform alternating side bends, reaching toward your heels.
  10. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Tips

  • The BOSU ball provides an unstable surface that increases core demand
  • Keep arms straight throughout the crunch portion—all movement comes from your abs
  • The side bends at the end provide additional oblique activation
  • Use appropriate cable weight to maintain control throughout
  • Focus on the crunch motion rather than arm movement
  • This is an advanced core isolation exercise
