Seated Leg TucksSeated Leg Tucks

A bodyweight abdominal exercise performed on a bench where you tuck your knees toward your chest while leaning backward.

Instructions

  1. Sit on a bench with the legs stretched out in front of you slightly below parallel and your arms holding on to the sides of the bench. Your torso should be leaning backwards around a 45-degree angle from the bench. This will be your starting position.
  2. Bring the knees in toward you as you move your torso closer to them at the same time. Breathe out as you perform this movement.
  3. Contract your abdominals fully at the point of maximum knee-to-chest proximity.
  4. After a second pause, go back to the starting position as you inhale, extending your legs out with control.
  5. Repeat for the recommended amount of repetitions.

Tips

  • Keep your hands gripped firmly on the bench to maintain stability and control.
  • Move slowly and deliberately through the entire range of motion; avoid using momentum.
  • The closer your torso and knees meet, the more intense the abdominal contraction.
  • Exhale as you bring knees to chest and inhale as you extend, maintaining steady breathing.
  • This exercise can be made more challenging by adding weight between your feet or performing it on a decline bench.
