Primary Muscles

A hanging core exercise where you bring your toes up to touch the bar, building abdominal and hip flexor strength and pulling power.

Instructions

  1. Grip a pull-up bar with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width.
  2. Hang with straight arms and engage your core.
  3. Keeping your legs relatively straight, swing your feet up toward the bar.
  4. Attempt to touch your toes to the bar by lifting your hips and engaging your core.
  5. Pause briefly at the top position.
  6. Lower your legs back to the starting hanging position in a controlled manner.
  7. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Tips

  • Start with knee tucks or hanging knee raises if the full movement is too challenging.
  • Use momentum from a slight swing to assist the movement in early stages.
  • Focus on core engagement rather than swinging excessively.
  • Keep your grip tight and your shoulders engaged throughout.
  • Progress by increasing reps or adding weight with a dip belt.

Recommended starting values
