Primary Muscles

Core anti-rotation exercise performed with cable in a half-kneeling position to enhance core stability and strength.

Instructions

  1. Attach a handle to the cable machine at chest height.
  2. Assume a half-kneeling position perpendicular to the cable machine, with the cable on your right side.
  3. Hold the handle at your chest with both hands, elbows bent at 90 degrees.
  4. Keep your core engaged and resist any rotation as you press the handle straight forward away from your body.
  5. Your arms should extend fully while your torso remains facing forward.
  6. Pause briefly, then slowly return the handle to your chest.
  7. Complete all reps on one side, then switch to the other side.

Tips

  • The anti-rotation component is key; focus on preventing your torso from rotating
  • Keep your hips square and avoid shifting your weight
  • Engage your core throughout the entire movement
  • This is an excellent exercise for improving rotational stability and functional core strength
  • The half-kneeling position provides stability while challenging balance
