A plyometric leg exercise combining a squat with an explosive upward jump, building power and cardiovascular fitness.

Instructions

  1. Stand upright with your feet shoulder-width apart and arms crossed over your chest.
  2. Keep your head up and back straight as you prepare for the movement.
  3. Squat down by bending your knees and hips until your thighs are parallel or lower to the floor.
  4. Drive through the balls of your feet and jump straight up as high as possible.
  5. Exhale forcefully as you leave the ground, using your legs as springs.
  6. Land softly on the floor, immediately bending your knees to absorb the impact.
  7. Immediately descend into the next squat and repeat the jump.

Tips

  • Land softly with bent knees to reduce impact on your joints.
  • Keep your torso relatively upright throughout the movement.
  • Maintain a steady, continuous rhythm without pausing between reps.
  • This exercise builds explosive lower body power and aerobic capacity.
  • Perform on a padded surface for reduced joint impact.
  • Start with lower intensity and progress gradually to avoid injury.
