Landmine Press (Barbell)
A pressing exercise using a landmine barbell that reduces shoulder joint stress and allows for a more natural pressing angle suitable for beginners.
Instructions
- Load one end of the barbell into a landmine attachment.
- Stand facing the barbell with feet shoulder-width apart.
- Grip the end of the barbell at shoulder height, with elbows bent.
- Keep your core tight and maintain an upright posture.
- Press the barbell forward and slightly upward by extending your arms.
- Pause briefly at full extension while maintaining control.
- Lower the barbell back to shoulder height in a controlled manner.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Tips
- The angled barbell creates a more shoulder-friendly pressing pattern than straight barbells.
- Keep your core engaged and avoid excessive lower back extension during the press.
- This variation works well for strength development and muscle building.
- Maintain neutral wrist position throughout the movement.
- Gradually increase weight as you build strength and confidence.
- This exercise transitions well from dumbbell pressing to barbell pressing.
