Primary Muscles

Handstand against a wall for support with chest facing the wall. Builds shoulder strength, core stability, and balance while providing wall assistance.

Instructions

  1. Face a wall and place your hands on the ground about 6-12 inches away from the wall.
  2. Place your hands shoulder-width apart with fingers spread wide for stability.
  3. Kick your feet up against the wall, allowing your chest to face the wall.
  4. Keep your body in a straight line from your hands to your feet.
  5. Engage your core, shoulders, and upper back to maintain the position.
  6. Hold for 10-30 seconds, breathing steadily.

Tips

  • Start with your hands closer to the wall and gradually move them further as you get stronger.
  • Keep your shoulders packed (not shrugged) and actively engaged.
  • Maintain tension throughout your entire body to prevent sagging hips.
  • Press firmly through all ten fingers for maximum stability.
  • Practice regularly to build endurance and eventually transition to free-standing handstands.
