A dynamic bodyweight movement combining elements of a downward dog yoga position and push-up, where the body flows from a lowered chest position to an upright position.

Instructions

  1. Start in a push-up position with your hands and feet on the ground, hands shoulder-width apart.
  2. Shift your hips back and up while keeping your hands in place, creating an inverted “V” shape or downward dog position.
  3. Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the ground, sweeping your torso forward underneath your hands.
  4. Reverse the movement by extending your arms and pressing your chest upward, creating an arched back position.
  5. Push your hips back up and return to the downward dog position.
  6. Return to the starting push-up position and repeat.

Tips

  • Move through the exercise with control rather than speed
  • Keep your core engaged throughout to maintain control and power
  • Focus on the flowing, continuous nature of the movement
  • Progress to decline positions by placing your feet higher as strength improves
  • Breathe steadily throughout the movement without holding your breath
