Equipment
rings

An advanced pressing movement performed inverted on the rings, combining handstand balance with a pressing strength component.

Instructions

  1. Kick up to an inverted handstand position on the rings
  2. Ensure shoulders are stacked directly over wrists
  3. Lower yourself by bending your elbows, moving your head toward the rings
  4. Keep your body hollow and core engaged throughout
  5. Press through your palms to extend your elbows and return upward
  6. Maintain balance and control at the top

Tips

  • Use wall support initially to focus on the pressing movement
  • Keep elbows slightly forward rather than fully extended outward
  • Lower your head in front of the rings rather than behind them
  • Maintain tension in your entire body to prevent loss of balance
  • Progress from pike position to partial handstand before full headstand push-ups
  • Start with assisted variations or partial range of motion
