An advanced bodyweight balance exercise where you support your entire body weight inverted on the rings, developing shoulder strength, stability, and body control.

Instructions

  1. Start in a push-up position with hands on the rings, slightly wider than shoulder-width
  2. Pike your hips upward while walking your feet closer to your hands
  3. Gradually shift weight forward and upward, eventually coming inverted
  4. Stack your shoulders directly over your wrists
  5. Maintain a hollow body position with engaged core
  6. Hold for the prescribed duration, controlling your balance

Tips

  • Practice against a wall to build confidence before free-standing
  • Focus on shoulder positioning and stability before duration
  • Maintain tension throughout your entire body for better balance
  • Start with a kick-up to handstand to get comfortable with the position
  • Gradually reduce wall contact as you build balance
  • Hollow body holds are essential preparatory work

Recommended starting values
