One-Arm Kettlebell Military Press To The SideOne-Arm Kettlebell Military Press To The Side

A pressing movement performed from the side with a kettlebell at shoulder height, pressing upward and slightly outward to engage shoulders and stabilizer muscles.

Instructions

  1. Clean a kettlebell to your shoulder by extending through your legs and hips, rotating your wrist so the palm faces inward.
  2. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and core engaged.
  3. Look at the kettlebell and press it up and outward to the side until your arm is fully extended overhead.
  4. Maintain a neutral spine and avoid leaning away from the weight.
  5. Lower the kettlebell back to your shoulder under control.
  6. Complete all repetitions on one side before switching arms.

Tips

  • Press slightly outward at an angle, not straight up
  • Keep your core tight to prevent lateral flexion
  • Engage your lat to stabilize the movement
  • Maintain an upright posture throughout
  • Contract your glutes for added stability
  • Tighten your abdominals forcefully
  • Avoid dropping the weight; control the descent

Recommended starting values
