One-Arm Kettlebell Push PressOne-Arm Kettlebell Push Press

A pressing exercise combining a dip and drive, using leg drive to explosively press a kettlebell from shoulder height to overhead lockout.

Instructions

  1. Hold a kettlebell by the handle. Clean it to your shoulder by extending through your legs and hips, rotating your wrist so the palm faces forward.
  2. Dip your body by bending your knees while keeping your torso upright and core engaged.
  3. Immediately reverse direction, driving forcefully through your heels to generate upward momentum.
  4. Press the kettlebell overhead to lockout by extending your arms, using your body’s momentum to assist.
  5. Lower the kettlebell back to shoulder height under control.
  6. Complete all repetitions on one side before switching arms.

Tips

  • The dip should be quick and explosive, not a deep squat
  • Drive hard from your legs to create momentum
  • Press vertically without excessive trunk extension
  • Lock out completely with full arm extension
  • Control the descent to prevent impact on your shoulder
  • Maintain a strong core throughout the movement
  • Keep the kettlebell path close to your body
